Meet Our Attorneys

Sara J.L. Irby


Ms. Irby joined Fischer, Brown, Bartlett & Gunn, P.C. as an associate in 2005, and became a shareholder in 2012. Her practice is focused on the areas of water law, real estate law and business law. In particular, Ms. Irby’s experience includes representing clients in change of water rights applications, plans for augmentation, and the adjudication of surface and groundwater rights matters. She also advises clients in real estate transactions and real property matters, including the acquisition of water rights, commercial property transactions, easements, land use matters, tax deferred exchanges, title issues and development projects. Ms. Irby also assists clients with the formation of business entities, such as limited liability companies and S-corporations.

Ms. Irby received her undergraduate degree in journalism at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is a graduate of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she served as the Comments Editor (2004-2005) and as a Staff Editor (2003-2004) for the Denver University Law Review.

Following her first year of law school, Ms. Irby worked with victims of human trafficking for the International Organization for Migration in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovinia.
